I went to the liquor store on a quest for some beer. I had no clue what I wanted...I just wanted a quality beer.

So I looked into the cooler and some bright green packaging caught my eye. I'd had good luck with Seirra Nevada products before so I decided to give this one a try.

I got it home and and opened one up. I poured it into a 10 oz. mug. The mug was not chilled...Room temperature. I can't get over the twist off cap on the Sierra Nevada beers...It just don't seem right.

It poured a two finger head. It was rather white when compared to the deep orange color of the beer. It was medium thick. The initial smell of the beer was piney.

So I took a sip...My first impression was a malt flavor that soon went to war with the hops. The hops won!! The finish was a little herbal and lingered till the flavor was bitter. This is a pretty dry beer.

As I drank the brew I noticed much lacing on the body of the mug. It was medium in the carbonation scale.

Overall this is a good brew. It's not as complex as some. It's a good starter IPA. I do prefer the Dogfish Head IPA's. Dogfish is releasing some 120 Minute IPA is September. I'll do a review if I can find some.

I give this brew 8 out of 10 points.
