Puffer Fish with many spikes

Make your own Kahlua
I actually much prefer this to the store bought stuff...
3 cups of coffee (fresh grounds) 12 cups boiling water 1/4 teaspoon (heaping) soda 6 cups sugar 1 qt 190 proof alcohol (Everclear) 4 tablespoons vanilla Pour water over coffee, add soda, let stand 45 minutes; stirring often Strain through cloth. Add sugar and boil for 20 minutes. Bring to a boil and then start timing. Strain again. Add vanilla and alcohol. BOTTLE! Then you might ask yourself...'Self, what should I do with said Kahlua?'... Here's an idea Brandy Alexander 3 oz brandy 2 oz Kahlua 1 qt vanilla ice cream Blend & add 3 ice cubes & blend Enjoy...and happy holidays

My pleasure y'all...
I don't drink coffee, but I have been known to get some premium beans to grind when I'm making my own Kalhua... And of course, being a Texan...Brandy Alexanders can only be made with Blue Bell in my house...*grin*

Damn California state laws, 75% is the highest allowed, so the strongest we can get is Bacardi 151. Any idea how well this'll work with some vodka?

Ohhh, that's rough.
I honestly don't know...Everclear really doesn't have a flavor unlike vodka and rum...I think were I going to try it, I would use some Vanilla Vodka and see what happens... If you do, let me know how it turns out...

Exactly my thoughts. None of the vodkas are quite tasteless, but the coffee should be able to mask any taste the vodka imparts. Vanilla vodka's an interesting idea, too.

Wow, fantastic recipe. For some reason, people are really impressed when you have your bar stocked with homemade drinks and accessories. This one is definitely going into the mix!
