What bourbon?

I'm gonna pick up a nice bottle of bourbon soon, around $30-$40 a fifth. I normally just buy Beam, but I want something nice for every now and then. What would you all suggest in this price range?

Since you like the Beam Family already, may I suggest Knob Creek or Bakers. Both small batch Bourbons from the Beam family and are excellent.

There are several in that price range that I would try...(in my preferred order):
Eagle Rare
Buffalo Trace
1792
Bulleit
Knob Creek

I'm currently drinking Woodford Reserve.. I've tried it rocks and with a little water..

Both good.. Not great.. I don't think I get my socks knocked off after drinking so much scotch..

I would choose rum over bourbon.. Its just me..

I've now heard several recomendations for Eagle Rare, Knob Creek, and 1792. So depending on what my store has, and what looks good when I'm in there I think it will be one of those. Thanks for the ideas!

I've had Beam Black before so I wanted something different. I'm thinking Eagle Rare now, just need to find a store that carries it. I can't find hardly any decent alcohol in this college town lol.

Any updates on the bourbon search? I go with Woodford's when I want something a step up form the norm.
