Seasonal Foods?

Just wondering if this applies to others like it does in my household...??? Are there certain foods/meals that you have during certain seasons?

With the Fall now upon us my dearest Wife has begun discussing some of my FAVORITE dishes. Tonight she's making one of my all-time favs.... Shrimp Gumbo, totally from scratch.

Re: Seasonal Foods?

Totally... Winter is more stews, roasts and such, summer I get my favorite dish of all, Tomato & Green Bean Salad!! Summer I find I grill a lot more too (2-3 times a week), as opposed to not even 1x a week in the winter months!

Re: Seasonal Foods?

Winter = Homemade black bean soup with ham hocks and cornbread on the side, all made from scratch (dried beans, not that canned crap).

Same thing here. Though, I might try to keep my grill going all year round.

Thumbs up Re: Seasonal Foods?

I love the fall and winter. Time for Fondue, Roosti, and Choucroute!

That sounds amazing. It would be nice if recipe links could be posted also. This is one I'd love to try.
