Founders: Dirty Bastard Scotch Ale

I rid the world of several of these this past weekend and I was just floored by how much I liked the beer. It comes on strong at first, but don't get intimidated and shy away. This beer offers an abundance of rich flavors and complexity not found in other favorites. And if you ever hear "meaty" in the discription of a drink, Dirty Bastard embodies it.

Dirty Bastard brings a hearty taste and a good Al%. Although, I could be wrong about all of this so you might want to pick up a pack and give them a go.


Founders flagship beer. Dirty Bastard is an absolute beautiful beer to behold. Dark ruby in color and brewed with ten varieties of imported malts this beer continuously lives up to its reputation as a bold and powerful ale. Dirty Bastard is complex in the finish with hints of smoke and peat paired with a malty richness, finalized with a good bit of hop attitude. This beer “ain’t fer the wee lads”

Check out their site. They have other interesting beers I am wanting to try out as well. Going off of the Dirty Bastard I can only expect good things to come.

I have some peeps in Mi. But I doubt I can find it in Md. Sounds good though.

Good choice! Dirty Bastard is easily my favorite scotch ale, it's got a nice hop balance that most scotch ales don't have. I live ~1 hr from the brewery and make it there about once a month. I've tried every MI bottled beer and draft beer from most MI brewery's and can easily say that Founder's is MI's best brewery.
