Looking into purchasing Guinness Extra Forgein Stout
I have been seraching around the internet looking for a good stout beer. I have had the Guinness Stout and Murphys Stout. I was wondering if anyone has ever tried the Guinness Extra Forgein Stout Beer? I love dark rich beers and this sounds like a good one. Just wanted to see if anyone has ever had this before I go and purchase a case.
Thanks ![]() |

Re: Looking into purchasing Guinness Extra Forgein Stout
I haven't tried it myself, though it sounds pretty good. I have a friend who spent a good bit of time in africa recently and, if I remember correctly, he had it there and enjoyed it. I'll try to ask him latter today to find out for certain.

I was told by someone in the know, that there are 13 formulas of Guinness made to satisfy regional taste preferences.

Re: Looking into purchasing Guinness Extra Forgein Stout
To answer your question, the Foreign is better than the "normal" Guinness, in my opinion, but read on for an even better idea:
If you like dark rich beers, get ready for some fun. There are a LOT of good dark beers out there, some which are so thick and rich they have the consistency of cough syrup. If you want to jump in feet first, bypass anything Guinness (too dry to be considered rich) and buy some Imperial Stouts. Old Rasputin, Bell's Expedition Stout, Victory's Storm King Stout, or just about any other Imperial stout will knock your socks off. ![]() |

Re: Looking into purchasing Guinness Extra Forgein Stout
I prefer the extra stout more than the nitro draft versions in bottles and cans and the real draft. It has a richer more complex taiste than the others and the alcohol content is abut 7.5% compared to the 4.5 in the draft versions both have their ups and downs the draft is a good session beer and the extra stout has the flavor that would hold up to and complement a cigar.
