Barbecue Orange Chicken
Hows it going guys? Here is a little recipe I came up with.
Throw some chicken pieces (anything man- I'm a college student so I just use cut up chicken pieces with bones, haha- but boneless, skinless chicken will work as well- I'm basing this off of 2 lbs or so) in a bowl. Add a little bit of canola oil- just a tablespoon or so. Pick your favourite brand of orange juice and add enough to mostly cover the chicken. Then add a teaspoon or so of sesame oil (more or less depending on how much chicken you used). Add a lemon's worth of lemon juice. Then add 1 tsp to 1 tbl spoon of sugar. Mix up so that it all blends a bit- cover- refrigerate over night. Warm up a grill (charcoal or gas- no big deal) and toss em on until the pieces are cooked through (time depends on what chicken cut you use). I usually let the flames kiss the chicken in the end to add some slightly caramelized, charred goodness. Enjoy with some steamed or grilled asparagus and fried rice.

Re: Barbecue Orange Chicken
My wife and I have been oven roasting chickens alot lately. Im going to try your marinade recipe next time and throw it in the oven.
We usually take a chicken and butterfly it down the bottom so the whole thing lays flat on a cooking rack, season it up (my fav is this greek seasoning i found), and put it in the oven on 475 for about 40-50 mins. Comes out really friggin' good. I'll have to do the oj marinade next time. Thanks for the recipe!! |

Re: Barbecue Orange Chicken
Sounds great.
I've used OJ with beef ribs ... orange juice, fresh cut garlic (lots), salt, pepper, warchestershire. Let ribs soak for 3-4 hours in OJ mixture and then par boil the ribs in the OJ mixture untill tender & then put the ribs asside. Boil the OJ mix down to a thick sauce, put the beef ribs on the grill & baste with sauce mixture. nummy |
