If you ever want to make yourself a dam good steak and cheese, try this. Buy about 1/2 or 3/4 lb of roast beef. I used Board Head Italian RB since we carry it. A salt and pepper brand would work very well too. Just make sure to ask if its rare. I'm talking red all the way through.

Dice up some red onions and whatever other toppings you like on there. Place them all on a greased sheet pan or a pizza stone or whatever you've got. Stick them in the oven and get a little color on everything. Don't cook the RB too long or you'll have a jerky sandwich.

I used a big grinder roll and cut it in half. Folded some cheese so it would be on the inside. Stuff everything in the roll and toss another piece of cheese on top of it, then whatever you like to adorne it with. Back in the oven to melt the cheese. Grab a beer and enjoy.

10x better than steak-ums or any of that crap.

That may be the case, but it sure as hell tastes like steak.

I am starving and you are making me hungry.

Steak & Cheeze is one of my go to subs. I use shaves sirloin myself, Keep it in the freezer. Its easy to just trow on the griddle or frying pan.

Thanks for your recipe. I will give it a try.

You are correct, I guess that is why he called it a steak and cheese... but, there is nothing like a true Philly CheeseSteak over here in South Jersey I like Gaetano's
