Anyone a fan of the old Doom and Doom 2 games? those were my favorites long ago I wish I could find a way to get them to work on modern OSs.

Was doom orig. a dos game? I can't remember, but there is a version of classic doom available for windows. A while back I downloaded that one and DukeNukem with a dos emulator and they both played fine. I don't know a whole lot about it, but if you did a little googling I'm sure you'd find something.

They have emulators online for free. If you have an xbox 360 they also have it to download there.

Yeah Doom 1 was for Dos..I found emulators for windows and linux but theres always an issue like I have to use the keyboard to move instead of the mouse which I prefer or the sound doesnt work or its just a couple levels and not the full game. it seems like I need to build an old comp with windows 3.2 and install it the old fashion way.

Doom II was Dos as well, What a fun Game Final Doom was the first for windows i think.

there are definitely versions available... or what I do is run them from the dos prompt which should be on everything up to xp... never checked on vista.

that is one thing I havent tried...I may even still have the 5 floppy disks for the install too. I have XP so theres probably a better chance of it working than if I had vista. Ill give that a whirl. thanks!

I tried to load and play Quake 3 the other day...after playing the newer games, I just can't stand the older graphics! I loved the original Doom though!
