I agree. Nice Humi. I wish I could see into mine. I just have a huge opaque cooler. There's no coolness factor at all.

Well, it's Monday morning and the hygrometer is holding steady at 73 degrees and 74 percent humidity in the salt test...Looks like this is working.

Sounds like your hygro is 1% low. Not bad at all.

Now to get your humidity in the humidor stable and in the zone!

Have you looked to make sure the Humi is sealing properly.
If there are any "noticeable" gaps that could be the cause of lack of humidity.
Just a thought.

Good luck with that
B

By the way, very nice Humidor (when working)
Whats the count on that thing?

sounds like you must have a good seal if your inside RH is lower than the outside. Let's see how she looks since you made the mods to the beads.

Are you sure you have enough beads Aaron, try this...looks like you have 2 containers on each shelf, leave 1 dry and the other75% wet, this is what I do with mine. Only use distilled water...no solution.

It's completely possible that I don't have enough beads - but I can't add anymore, becuz I really don't have anymore beads. LOL!

Looks like I'm cruising heartfelts website when funds free up.

Re: HELP! Humidity experts, look inside....

You definitely do not have enough beads! I have a humi half the size of yours with 1 lbs of beads. Needs spraying once a week.

What is the RH in the room? (I also suspect that the A/C is sucking the humidity out of your humi).

Re: HELP! Humidity experts, look inside....

Another thing to think about is how much "empty space" you have in your humidor. I have my cooler so full that I am using a 1" X 1" chunk of foam to humidify a 48 qt cooler. With all that open air, your RH will not be very stable. I would say ditch the trays and fill it with boxes!

I thought we weren't supposed to use solution with beads?

Right on with only wetting 1/2 of the beads. If all of yours are wet you could dry out half with a hair dryer or just lay them out flat on a sheet they will dry out pretty quick.

I don't know how accurate it is but heartfelt has a calculator on the website for how much you need in beads. I don't have any experience other than mine that it is accurate but I would guess it's close.

I think we need to make sure we are all talking about the same products.

Generally when people refer to beads here they are talking about the ones from heartfelt industries, I think cigarmony has some similar too, but don't know about theirs as much. These beads regulate humidity with distilled water.

Now, there are other products out there such as special crystals that use solution. They don't regulate humidity, but provide it to a certain RH, usually 70%.

But, if you are refering to the beads, no solution should be used.
