Good, I'm not really after a green-chlorophyll-fresh-cut-grass type of grassy. Maybe closer to an alfalfa sort of thing.

Hmmm... No comment.

Several suggestions given here I haven't tried and now look forward to sampling. The Padilla 8/11 is already a fav, though maybe not quite what I'm trying to describe as "grassy." I've noticed a distinct grassiness SOMETIMES in JL Salazars, CAOs and Illusiones. I'd probably describe CAO generally as more herbal than grassy -- again, I guess I'm not very good at flavor descriptions. But I'll definitely try some or all of the suggestions and maybe start with a C Cohiba, since I already have a couple just waiting to be torched.

Leon Jimenes maduro... very grassy. Also the Davidoff Millennium Edition petite coronas were pretty grassy... not in a bad way, though.

I had a Cuban about a year ago and I recall the distinct flavor of fresh asparagus, it was that grassy. It's a flavor profile I enjoy.

While on the topic of picking out slight subtleties in our stogies, how does one readily identify the type of wood they taste? I have done this once, and I was proud. However, it was an easy call: Spanish Cedar. That one's a no-brainer. So how does one call out "Javanese Rosewood" or "Cherry" or "bamboo chute?" *insert sarcasm here.* Scratch this, I think I just may start a thread.

Re: "Grassy" taste in cigars

Cohiba blacks have a nice grassy taste. Makes the cigar all the more complex. That's a 3yr aged tabaco. It's especially notable with the little Pequentos.

I got five 6-packs of the Pequentos as a gift, and they're just as nice a 5" robusto in my opinion for that drive home from work. I usually grab 1-or-2 six packs of them when I make a stogie run. Almost the same length as a robusto, mucho thinner, burns just as long, and most important it's a COHIBA for $2... or less.
