Figure eight cut

I like a punch cut in that it preserves the integrity of the cap.On the large ring gauge cigars I find that sometimes the draw is inadequate. What I have started doing is punching off center and then repunching through the first punch. This results in a punch that looks like the figure eight.Draws great and cap stays intact. In a way it provides the draw of a v-cut.FrankB

Re: Figure eight cut

When I used to punch my stogies I commonly did the double punch leaving a figure eight pattern. However, I've become much more skillful in cutting my cigars with my xikar and haven't used a punch in a while. I have used a v-cut on box pressed cigars. If you cut the long way it makes for a nice cut.

I have done the same thing on LGC Serie R #6 & 7 and with many of the 60rg cigars. I have found this works great!

Great idea! I use a very small punch and do a picture of Joey Ramone.

Re: Figure eight cut

If you turn the figure 8 90 degress, it turns into infinity.

Haha, but in all seriousness I still maintain to the "Snip snip, cut cut" method.

I just cut.
