Here is a photo showing there size. Please ignore those rolled items in the background they are the results of some very early learning experiences rolling tobacco.

If you want to check out some more stuff on growing tobacco and see more pictures here is a link.

I didn't call it my "Mexican Connection" for nothing.

I sparked one of the Getomi coronas up with my cup of coffee this morning and it started out like a CAO Gold (fresh bread toasting) and when it hit midpoint it opened up believe it or not with anise/licorice on the tongue. From there it moved into a pepper finish waking up the tongue. Exhaling through the nose was a flavorful experience to the end. Not a trace of harshness. Mild to medium body but full toasty flavor thoughout. It is still a pleasant taste in my mouth and mustache, not one of those smokes where I rush to the sink and brush my teeth and wash my face.

Now I have to go cut my hair and get a job.

I think that my next order placed at this point (in 2009) will be with Doug at Calidad Tobacco. After researching his site for some time, I've been wanting to try his Toztli Corona and the Getomi Robusto. Their profile appear to be right up my alley

Doug in down in Mexico (San Andres, Vera Cruz) visiting his tobacco and rain forest friends. He will return in January sometime. He invited me to accompany him this time around but the logistics did not work out for me… I hope to take him up on his offer next year.

In the mean time I will send you a few until he returns. I still have your address from the tobacco seed mailing. I have a few secret santa packages to get together, so unless your address has changed expect something around Christmas my friend. HoHoHo

Re: Mexican Connection Delivers

That is so awesome. I would love to someday learn how to roll. To me the really daunting thing would be sourcing good tobacco. Or maybe not! Your stuff looks pretty!

Incidentally, Calidad tobacco is apparently really close to where I live! Well its about an hour and a half away from here (omaha) but there are always plenty of reasons to go to lincoln and then it's just around the corner! I guess they don't have a retail shop, but still...I feel like a real cigar industry insider.

As the humble OP of this thread I respectfully request that it be closed to any future posts.

Let me make it clear, this is not a swan song nor a retreat… more like a phoenix

I look forward to creating new threads that will hopefully provide stimulating conversation and inspired thought.

It is time to turn the page and see where the next chapter will take us.

The joy that I have received through these simple words and photos remains multiplied by the number of hearts and minds that pass this way.

As always my PM door is open to any questions.
