Serious Nubbing Via Mouthpiece PICTURES INCLUDED

Thought I would post a couple of pictures of just how usefull a mouthpiece can be.

Here are my smoking habits, I smoke the cigar without a mouthpiece (usually) untill it starts getting "short"... At this point I put it in a cigar mouthpiece and continue to smoke untill there is almost nothing left of the cigar in question.

As you can see in the pics, the cigar in question was a Padron 2000 Maduro.

One other thing, if I had removed the remaining ash from the tip of this nub, you would see that the nub is well under an inch.

Also, I used a punch on this cigar so if it were clipped the nub would be even smaller.

Let me know what you guys think.

You know the old saying, waste not want not.

If I'm really enjoying a cigar, I'll nub it shorter than that without any accoutrement.

Nice nub. What did you use to cut it with? Looks like you just bit it off.

I don't enjoy a cigar once it starts burning my lips.

I could have gone shorter than this one but I really didn't want any more.

I actually used a punch because my Xikar was not with me at the time and I wanted a smoke. I have a punch on my keychain so that did the trick.

Neither do I, but with a mouthpiece that NEVER happers so i can, presumeably, smoke it down to ash without burning my lips.

I smoke them to about 3/4 of an inch. I try not to smoke it too far in, I think it has the chance of ruining the experience.

In all honesty, I've never had a problem and the stogie tastes good to the last ash.

Oh, if anyone is interested in what these mouthpieces look like? A great BOTL emailed me a link with some nice ones. Just FYI, I have the black plastic/bacalite ones.

Thanks for the pictures! That's much better than when I burn my finger, tongue and lips!

An *inch*?!?

Noob.

I don't have a ruler; but this *was* my first 70s 898NV. I'd say that's about 1/4 inch. Did it burn? Yes. Was it worth it? Hell yes.

That's an impressive nub and I'm not saying that a cigar can't be nubbed to an extreme degree without a mouthpiece.

What I am saying is that nubbing is a lot more comfortable (without buring your lips and/or fingers) using a mouthpiece.

Edit: Oh yeah, and you don't need a roach-clip to nub a cigar when you use a mouthpiece.
