I'd vote for the Torano 1959 Golds, in the Torpedo size, and the Sanch Panza Double maduro.
However, I throw another one I've enjoyed immensely into the mix that no one else has mentioned: Butera "Royal Vintage" Maduro. The smaller sizes have a delicious, creamy sweetness to them. (Even my wifey likes them!)A bit hard to find, but well worth a look at. you might want to pick up a 5-pack or a single and check them out first. A real-top-quality smoke, IMHO.

As Funnyman said the ERDM Robusto has all the flavors and more, consistent cigar and the longer they rest, the better. JR's

Good recommendations. I would definitely agree with the Toraņo's and SPDM. I got a box of the MC Afrique Lemosho's a few years ago for Christmas and it's the only size in that line I've had but they were pretty darn tasty.

The Toranos would be the best cigar for the price and probably the most consistent.

I would also suggest that you sample a few Sancho Panza double maduros. It's not an expensive or complex cigar, but they have a rich taste.

Thanks to all for the info - there are definitely some great options here from people who know what they're talking about! I will look into this more sometime today when I have time and then figure out an order. I'll run it back by. Anyone else w/ advice is still welcome to add on!

On the little bit more expensive side, the Gurkha Legend series has a defined chocolaty taste. I got one in on of the Blind Reviews and in my review I noted the chocolaty taste. Good cigar, I have added a few more to my collection since I tasted the first one.
Based on this thread, I picked up a couple ERDM Robusto Oscuro last night from my local shop. PM me your address and I will send you one to try.

Re: Chocolate Coffee Cream Non-Cubans - What are your thoughts?
The Results of my research are in:
Please see the attachment below. Thanks to all for the recommendations. The ones that seem to come in w/ the most frequency were: Carlos Torano Exodus 1959 RobustoI'm sure over the summer I will try every single recommendation. I assembled a list of about 10 of the recommendations and went website price shopping. I searched high and low, through many retailers that you all have recommended in 1f1fan "Vendor Links" thread. I found the best prices on the ones I was looking for at Cheaper Cigars and Lil Brown. However what I did find was some good "5-Packs" of these at Cigars International. I can get a 5 packs of Carlos Torano Silver Robusto $18All 3 of those were recommended, and even though I would get a better deal buying a box from Cheaper Cigars, I don't have the room to keep all these boxes. I know I'd save a bunch if I got that special at Thompsons that Matt was talking about: Item: R28504 $90.00 El Rey Del Mun Rob/2 Mad, Set (Contains: 40 EL REY DEL MUNDO ROB) A 5 pack of those would be $11.25 as opposed to the $18 I would spend. But I'd like to just try them out first - I just don't have the room to keep all those! So I figured I'd go w/ those 3 - 5 packs and get a box of Sancho Panza Double Maduro Quixote for $40.95 (I know they are $36 elsewhere). I also could pick up Mo's recommendation of Felipe Gregorio Centenario Classic Liga B - which I didn't see anywhere else - 10 of them for $30. So those would introduce me to some new tastes and give me a diverse selection as well. I am interested in those La Rosa Especial, but couldn't find them anywhere (what is the address to Larry Lynn's shop?) I probably won't order until next week sometime, I like to keep looking to make sure I'm getting the best deal. But I wanted to give some feedback to you all and let you know I definitely appreciate all the suggestions and thanks for taking the time to drop your useful experience! Thanks.

Re: Chocolate Coffee Cream Non-Cubans - What are your thoughts?
La Perla Habana Black Pearl Gran Robusto has chocolate and coffee flavors. I just had one last night. They are actually more $ than I expected, but they are close to what you are looking for. I didn't really pick up cream though...I don't really get creamy notes out of a rather strong cigar though.
http://www.cigarsinternational.com/p...em=CS-LP&cat=3 Maybe you can get a deal at the dangerous www.cigarbid.com though! Cheers ![]() |
