The good news and the bad news

The bad news....

I started with a couple of pricey NC's, ordered a few more boxes, found a couple of good sources for some boxes of ISOM's, then came a FORTY TWO CUBIC FEET humi that included a lot of smokes and just when you think the slope cannot get ANY steeper... you stumble into cigarbid.com

Three more boxes later and a serious concern if whether or not I should ever visit there again...... here I sit

The good news....

All of those that I have traded, bombed, passed to or been bombed from... I have encrypted and password protected your addresses so my wife can never find out who you are and never be able to come after you.

Don't worry about me.... unless you have a room for rent.... and if you do, I don't care about the size but it must have a large closet for my humi

LOL, I think my wife has started a group for spouses like ours.

Companions Usurping Tobacco Overspending For Food
I think its acronym is C.U.T.O.F.F.

Cheers!

is it only me or are the prices there not that hot. many people bid a lot more than they should making most auctions anything but a bargain.

Re: The good news and the bad news

Yes, their prices aren't THAT great, and the selection doesn't seem to change much, but once in a while...

And don't sweat it, Rod...I have plenty of space for your humi...I mean you...uhh.... right.

Re: The good news and the bad news

I just throw a bid that I know is a great deal.... maybe 10 to 20 % lower than J&R or Cig Int and I don't go back to fight it. If I get it fine.... if not... no loss of sleep.

So far so good but I am a little worried about what the missus is going to think when all of these boxes show up

BTW, what auction sites are y'all using if you do not mind me asking?

Re: The good news and the bad news

My wife beats me home most of the time, and every day she does I get a phone call: "Honey, another package came for you." The inflection she uses when she says "honey," "another," and "package" makes me think she's not really all that excited for me.

Inflection and tone are everything aren't they?

Maybe we should start a thread where we have recorded our wives "tones" so we can compare

Seriously though... my wife is so awesome... she has been putting up with the smell, the shipments and now the humi.... heck, she is the one that takes my bombs to the post office! Dear God I love this woman so much!

Re: The good news and the bad news

Well.... I'm our only income (the way we like it and want it) so that would be a bit awkward... but I get the point and I do know that works really well for some.

I'm your average guy... spending too much on what I like and not enough on what I don't... and she puts up with me like the saint she is.

And just for the record... I have abused way too much the old "at least I'm not out at the bar drinking" excuse.

One thing we have noticed is that we spend my smoke time out on the swing together talking and that is really good for the marital harmony and she has noticed that the cigars seem to mellow me out a bit too.
