Yeah, you guys are crying in your beer like we're in search of pre-embargo bundles or something. It's STILL available on CI's site. Go for it! And yes, for the record these are excellent short smokes, especially for the money. Perhaps they'll keep them around a bit longer. Who knows.

The free humi isn't bad either, put some beads in there and it holds OK. It's my "overflow" humi when those orders start piling up in the primary humi!

Re: Lamenting the Padilla Hybrid

The Padilla Hybrid is made as an exclusive brand for Cigars International.

If you are looking for more they have them.

Mr Padilla! A few questions if you're still around... have the hybrids always been a CI exclusive (thought I used to see them at my local shop)? Are you still making the Maduro line (I used to buy these at the same shop but have not seen them there for a long time)?

Thanks for the top notch stogies

The Maduro we no longer make - the wrapper was a true maduro "That means when you put it in your mouth you didn't look like you had black lipstick on".
This wrapper has become harder and harder to obtain in great quality. I decided we should not make it anymore. But we are introducing a limited Padilla 1932 Oscuro- Its a Nicaraguan maduro we only made 13,500 cigars they will come in a custom 45 count humidor and only 300 humidors are made. When they are gone they are gone. 3 sizes Robusto, torpedo, churchill.

The Hybrid is sold to Cigars International. This cigar is on the medium/mild end of the strength spectrum but rich and complex.

As for now we introduced two new blends one is the Padilla 1948 made with Pepin Garcia in his new nicaragua factory Criollo seed wrapper Nicaraguan fillers medium body to full. We also have the new series 68 with a Nicaraguan Corojo wrapper and Esteli and Jalapa fillers.

I hope this helps- got to run, enjoy the cigars.

Regards,
Ernesto Padilla

Re: Lamenting the Padilla Hybrid

That's a serious shame about the Maduros, this is one of the best NC cigars I recall smoking

Re: Lamenting the Padilla Hybrid

This thread is pure win... I loved the Padilla Miami I smoked, and will definitely try the new oscuro. Now if only my local B&M had them.

Yes, I'm a bit of a mover and shaker in the cigar industry. At least I move and shake a bit when I smoke them!
