smoked a corona last night. Not bad buttery smooth profile pretty onesided. Nothing I would smoke to celebrate a wedding but good for the money..

Re: Saint luis rey what do you think?

I have to say I actually enjoy a St. Louis Rey. For the price they are hard to beat for a decent smoke. I find the darker Robusto's would be a great everyday smoke. I say darker, because I am not sure if it is actually a maduro. I have smoked about 5 or 6. None of them burnt too badly or tasted bad in any way. Don't expect it to be an Opus X, but for the price it's a good consistant smoke.

Re: Saint luis rey what do you think?

I had a box of Double Corona's that were very harsh - I left them alone in the cooler for almost three years, kinda forgot about them. By the time I tried one again they were fine, a whole lot smoother. Nothing complex about them but a decent solid smoke.

Thumbs up Re: Saint luis rey what do you think?

I've been burning the 5x54 Rothchilde, both in maduro and Dark Naturals. I must like 'em, at a box each every other month. I find them to be very consistant and great bang for the buck!

The serie G double maduro are a good smoke. Very smooth taste if you like maduros.

Re: Saint luis rey what do you think?

I had my first Saint Luis Rey last week and was quite impressed. It's pretty cheap and was very tasty. It wasn't very smooth, but for that price, I could care less. It burned pretty evenly too and I never had to relight. Good deal

Re: Saint luis rey what do you think?

I tried one of the Serie G robustos, and was very disapointed. Right after lighting it, it got very soft, and the taste was not very pleasant. It was kept at 65% for a few days, so I'm pretty sure the softness/taste wasn't due to overhumidification.

Re: Saint luis rey what do you think?

I'v smoked a couple of them a few years back, seemed like a good cigar, but I prefer the Indianhead maduro 52 ring(?).

I agree, they look great, but that's where it ends.

Re: Saint luis rey what do you think?

I too had the Serie G. Only tried two but both times I put them down early in the game as I was not impressed at all. Kind of turned off as a matter of fact as I rarely like to put a stick down early, but I found them to be unsmokeable. Did not enjoy their flavor at all. I do plan on trying some of their other lines. I just refuse to pick up another Serie G.
