Talking PaulHag's Post-Porterhouse Punch Puff

To celebrate my day off I'm about to cook me a lovely 15 oz. Porterhouse and afterwards smoke one of the following Punches.. which should it be? Never had any of these so..

Punch Gran Cru
Punch Rare Corojo
Punch Gran Puro

If anyone can and wouldnt mind, A summary of the flavor profiles on each of these would be super as well. Thanks in advance..

I've only smoked the Rare Corrojo out of the 3 and enjoyed it.

Brother, you can't go wrong with any of those choices. The Rare Corojo has an interesting flavor. I mused on this before on a different post, but for some reason, my stubborn tongue kept picking up an apple taste. Very nice.

Grand Cru is the most smooth of the choices and you could risk a lessened impact after such a rich meal. It's got a little musky prelight aroma that I just love in a cigar.

Grand Puro is very peppery to start, and it smooths out to a slightly-above-medium-bodied smoke that will satisfy you to the end.

I prefer the Gran Cru out of the three of those, because in my experience, from the store I go to, the Grand Cru is the most consistent in flavor and quality. I like its relatively mellow taste.

Burned a Gran Puro Santa Rita last night. Spice and cedar.

Nice. CHEAP!

Re: PaulHag's Post-Porterhouse Punch Puff

Rare Corojo is my favorite of the three. Problem is, not as easy to get hold of as I would like.

Hard to go wrong with the Gran Cru. Very smooth for a Punch, with lots of flavor. The only ones that I don't really like are the little Punchito perfecto. VERY inconsistent. The larger sticks have not let me down.

Re: PaulHag's Post-Porterhouse Punch Puff

Well I decided to smoke the Cru after my steak. Very smooth smoke. Not as super flavorful as I expected, and no so much of the nutty taste I enjoy from the normal Punch line, but overall pretty good.
As i type this im smoking the Corojo and lemme tell ya.. whoever said they have a hint of apples... I think your right. Upon reading it at 1st I thought you were crazy but man.. It does have a nice pleasant soury apple twang to it... maybe because I came into it thinking that or??
But wow, both good smokes. Too different to say which I liked better.

Re: PaulHag's Post-Porterhouse Punch Puff

Your thread convinced me to light up one of my remaining Corojos last night. Other than a substandard cap, everything else was pure pleasure. I am seriously going to have to find another box of these.
