But wouldn't that be like taking a shower in a flavored rain coat?

I've liked some of the flavors (cherry or vanilla) but I can't say I care for the Acid type flavors. It was like smoking potpourri.

Not that I've ever smoked potpourri.

I must admit, I did enjoy the Drew Estate Java(the darker one not the latte).
One problem with flavored cigars is that often mfg's use inferior tobacco and then depend on the flavor to mask or cover up the fact that they are using less than quality tobacco. But as most here have said, it is a way of introducing new people(SOTL's and BOTL's) to the leaf.

Okay, I'll give you that some are really wacky, but I've got one thing to say in defense of them. They are one way to get a lady to try cigars. Last year, when Barney and I were first getting into cigars a salesperson at a B&M suggested I try one of the CAO package deals with one of each of their flavors. I kind felt like they were maybe marketed more for girls. Anyway, tried them, liked them, still like one variety, but now I'm smoking more and more "regular" unflavored cigars like Cohiba, Baccarat, Rocky Patel, etc. I actually discussed this with a female employee of our local B&M and she agreed. So, go easy on the flavored stuff, it could be one way to introduce your lady to the leaf.
And that's all I've got to say about that.
I've mentioned a few times here that I enjoy the Natural "Dirt" cigar on occasion It's not very often, but when I want one, noting else will satisfy. You won't hear me dissing anybodies cigars. If asked my opinion, I'll say if I like it our not but I'll never fault a person for liking something I don't. U R Nice

Re: Something else I've been wanting to say...

Have not had a flavored cigar yet that I liked, but have not really tried many either.

Why would you add flavor to a cigar if it already had a taste that could hold it's own?

However, everyone should smoke what they like. It is not fair to ridicule someone else's tastes, but giving your own opinion about how a cigar tastes to you is what CS is all about.

So without trying to describe them as good or bad, can we all just agree that flavored cigars are like Wine Coolers?

If you like a cigar for it's taste you must like the cigar. Why do you criticize someone that likes a cigar that is different from what you like?

I think we should burn Joe at the stake

My wife started with the flavored sticks as well, but now likes the milder petite corona and corona sized cigars like the Carlos Torano 1916.

I feel about the same way with flavored cigars as I do about dropping fruit or candy into beer, [maybe not that bad], but the only thing that really matters is that you enjoy what ever type of cigar you enjoy. I'd wager that not many people started this hobby by smoking an Opus X or vintage Cubans.

Happy smokes to ya',

Re: Something else I've been wanting to say...

I haven't bought any of the flavored cigars but I have bought some inexpensive sticks and "infused" them myself. I've used bourbon, dark rum, Grand Marnier, and Benedictine. I don't smoke them everyday or even every week, but they make a good change of pace occasionally.

Re: Something else I've been wanting to say...

To each his/her own.

If you like flavored cigars have fun. This is why there are so many brands and types of cigars out there.

Its not what you smoke anyway. Its all about being a BOTL or SOTL...
