Louis XIII Glass Tube Gurkhas

I recently acquired some Gurkha Platinum Reserve Cigars. These cigars are infused with Louis XIII Cognac. They are sealed in the glass tubes with wax covering the ends.

Should I be concerned with the "flavored" cigars ruining my other cigars in my humidor. They are sealed in the tube with wax and i presume a cork. I have some expensive cigars in my humidor and I want to make sure the flavor doesnt ruin the rest???

I don't have experience with these "flavored" ones in particular but i'd be very suprised if the flavor was able to seep out through the cork and wax seal enough to effect the rest of your collection. Just my opinion though.

I had some of these in my humidor and didn't have any problems with them .

I too have a few of them in one of my desktop humis. Even though it is sealed, everytime I open the humi I can smell them. They havent had an effect on any of my other cigars in terms of taste though.

So your the guy that outbid me on cb

Congrats!

I had some of the makers mark ones in my humi and it didn't bother anything else, if your too concerned get a small (20 count) for just your flavored stuff.

What on earth do those taste like? Personally I'd prefer a regular cigar and a glass of cognac, but each ot their own!

I can't speak for the Louis the XIII, but the Makers Mark ones are a little sweet. I had one given to me by a friend who knew I liked Makers and cigars. I was surprised that it was actually not bad.

I don't buy them as a habit, but I will pick some up on cb if I can get a deal.

I'll back it up with more of the same.
I have several and they don't have any impact on anything else in the humi.

As far as the taste......Makers Mark don't even come close to these. The MMs are sweet as are the Gurkhas, but the Gurkha's sweetness dies down after the first inch or so.(On the Churchills anyway)
Good cigars.

Re: Louis XIII Glass Tube Gurkhas

I got a 3 pack of cbid a while ago. I have them in a small cigar box in my humidor. More to protect them from falling but it also adds a little extra barrier just in case.

Re: Louis XIII Glass Tube Gurkhas

I have smoked a good amount of these. As long as you leave them in the tubes and do not crack the seal your fine. If you crack the seal then I would move them to there own box.

The infused smell of Cognac and tobacco is awesome.

They are well made cigars. I like the flavor because th cognac is not to over powering. I will smoke them with a dark liquor.
