Yeah, definatly a cool history behind the cigar box guitar. A buddy of mine makes them. The really cool ones are the ones with just one string. If a bluesman really knows how to play a one stringed cigar box guitar, man, lemme tell ya, he can make some music with that one string.

Really cool, a nice novelty.....

I've got a few guitars, and would like to have one to play some authentic 12 bar blues, you'd be a real bluesman if you owned one of these. But the prices are HIGH.. 5-600 bucks, I can get a really nice guitar in that price range. I'm no luthier (guitar maker) but this might be a cool do-it-yourself project......

off to google, i'll see what I can find.

when i saw Tom Waits in concert last year, his "percussionist" (for lack of a better term) played a cigar box guitar on one song. can't remember the song, though... pretty cool thing to see.
