I've got one of these bad boys ordered which I'll use to exhaust air under the garage door.

Actually there are some G-I disorders that smoking (cigars or cigs) can irritate--Chrone's Disease, for example. I know b/c the doctors thought I might have it, but it was just a virus that took forever to get through my system. Anyway, when they thought that was what I had they told me I should never smoke. I also found plenty of stuff online that said the same thing. They don't know why smoke irritates the condition but it seems to.

Could you please define "nose smoker"? I think I understand because I exhale some smoke through my nose because by doing that I can get a much better taste sensation than just drawing and exhaling thorugh my mouth. I like the taste/smell sensation.

I've lost some weight since I started smoking cigars. I think the cigar must be keeping me from eating something I would have otherwise been eating.

My grandfather passed of cancer. They blamed it on the cigars, but I have no idea if it was true, I was just a kid.

I lost the battle with a LFD chisel. Felt like I'd been punched in the chest for a week. I went and bought some more.

Re: Has anyone had any medical complications due to cigar smoking?

I've not had any health complications due to cigar smoking, but I have danged sure had my share of cigar smoking complications due to health issues. My sinuses are such that there can be a week or two at a time when it would just be a waste to light one up.

I'm sure I am not alone in the following calculation: there is risk driving to the post office, of walking out to get the mail, of getting out of bed in the morning. Tobacco increases the risks for many kinds of cancer and I realize that minimizing my exposure to harmful substances is a helpful goal but one which is ultimately impossible to completely reach. Who knows what crap is sprayed on the veggies I eat or fed to the chicken I cook? I have to wonder about low level radiation, an increasingly frantic and stressful lifestyle, drug-resistant bugs.

I don't inhale intentionally and I don't do a lot of nose smoking, and I stay away from cigarettes and rarely smoke more than one cigar at a sitting and can occasionally go weeks without a stick; I figure I personally probably stand a better chance at getting sick from something else. But I guess if a guy smoked six or seven a day for decades on end, like George Burns, for example, he might eventually have health problems associated with them. I would guess (and it is purely a guess) that the exhaled smoke and the smoke from the stick is probably less harmful to you by an order of magnitude than what you draw in and inadvertently inhale into your lungs. It seems like Dr. StoigeFresh had a recent post you might want to read.

I definetely see a downward spiral into cigar abyss in my future. from now on i'll have to have James order the smokes, and i'll pay him the cash.
Whoa whoa whoa...Don't bring me into this! I'll never get to hang out at your house again!

Do you have the door open all the way? That's what I do with my garage door when I smoke in there. I open it all the way and then put a fan like 4 feet behind me on med and I don't have any issues.

My garage faces a busy street so I'd rather not leave the door open.

I have a small scar on my hand from part of an ash falling on my hand in the car.
