Wife purchased a stogie and left it in the car for a month. Is there any saving it? It is really dry.

Re: Old stogie?

Put it to rest in your humidor for 4-6 weeks. Should return to the proper humidity level and be quite smokeable. Unfortunately, it probably won't be as tasty as when first purchased because some of the oils will have dried out.

Re: Old stogie?

I would toss it and smoke something else instead brother. A dry cigar is like smoking air or worst, smoking poo, not worth the health related risks for a stogie like that, imho.

I think I will have to toss it. I would rather have something that does not taste like poo. I am temted though.

Re: Old stogie?

If its only one smoke, I would toss it. If it was a box then it is a different story. Just one smoke consider it a dead soldier.

Re: Old stogie?

A friend once gave me a couple of Boli Tubos #2 stogies which had been sitting in his car during the Aussie summer, I put them in the humi for about 3 months and smoked em, they tasted fine, not like poo at all not that I have smoked poo either .
They were just not as tasty as they could have been, very, very, very mild is how I would put it, lost all the oils etc, but they were still smokeable.

You've got nothing to lose giving it a try..... except maybe lunch

Re: Old stogie?

If anyone really has smoked some poo, please identify yourself, as I would like the chance to ridicule you incestantly after I finish vomiting.

Well, there was this one trip i took with Richard Schultes to the Peruvian Amazon while doing ethnobotanic research among the Amahuaca ... ya know, toad poo is hard to find. But that was a long time ago -- different era.

It was an Onyx. Cant remember which one. She tossed it before I got home. I will pick one up today to make up for it.
