Re: Do you actively "convert" others to cigars?
Inadvertently I converted one. I noticed a good cigar went missing from my humidor and after thorough investigation I found my 19 year old son was indulging himself. So I did the fatherly thing, I took him out to my B&M and bought him a Pardagus. His ass went Flop back into the seat when he tried to stand up after that one. I've created a monster.

Yes. My motivation is mixed. I want to share what I love, but I also want to offload what I don't love.

Re: Do you actively "convert" others to cigars?
It's been my experience that most people think of it as more of a novelty than anything else, unless you're a true smoker like all of us here.
I've wasted more quality sticks on new people than I care to admit, besause I would rather them try something I think is good. But now I keep beater sticks in the humi (brands I tried and didn't really care for) for the adventurous friend or relative.

I've tried over the years and continue to when I feel someone is receptive, but I've found most will accept or reject in their own time.

My only victim to this is scubasteve who is a member on the boards... got him into it. Now he enjoys cigars!
