Do you actively "convert" others to cigars?

I picked up cigar smoking totally on my own a few years back, but recently have indulged in it more, reading about it, buying more and different sticks.
Anyway, I have become more and more active in bringing non-cigar smokers into it. Partly selfish reasons because I like to enjoy a cigar with others, and partly because I really think they're missing out! I usually ask guys I know or meet eventually if they like cigars, and really enjoy getting a non-cigar guy (or someone who has only had machine rolled gas station sticks) to cross over to the life! More and more I am actively seeking out and handing out to the uninitiated. I've already converted a couple neighbors and have my sights set on the boyfriend of a lady I work with who told me cigars are "stinky" and she would never want her guy to smoke them.....we'll just see about that

Anyone else like converting new cigar "afficionados"?

I'm passive aggressive, an instigator, a pusher, a dealer when it comes to my friends and cigars.. I've pushed a few down the slope that are still falling. It's very satisfying to share smokes with some close friends.

Occasionaly yes. But I always am a little unhappy about seeing a stick 9/10s unsmoked and sitting in an ashtry so I'm not very hardcore in my process these days, especially as I only hand out sticks I really like.

I'll convert guys who already smoke gas station stogies or cigarettes. I don't like converting people who don't smoke because I don't want to get blamed by anyones wife for their new habit.

I can find many people who will smoke cigars but I cannot find the ones who consider them to be the such a prized hobby and obsession.

I try when I can.

Re: Do you actively "convert" others to cigars?

I wouldn't try to convert a non-smoker into a smoker. I think that's a personal choice an individual needs to make on their own.

However, if a person enjoys the occasional cigar, then he/she's fair game for the push!

I have introduced my two sons (both non-cigarette smokers like me) as well as two of their friends, also non-smokers. I have also been pushing them to join club stogie.
