AVO whores come in...my AVO 22 find!!!

I spent the last 6 days at my wife's in-laws in Virginia. It was pretty rough. There wasn't even any internet because they live in nowheresville (not even dial-up). I had to travel across town to her aunt & uncle's place to use the internet. My wife and I were on our way to Emporia for lunch with her grandma and noticed a small tobacco store on the side of the road. I went inside to look around and saw an odd shaped cedar cannister behind some regular production AVO cigars. I took it down and saw the '22' on the top and I nearly had a heart attack. Khubli knows how I've been searching high and low for these beautiful smokes. I asked the owner if I could break the seal to inspect the cigars and he obliged. Upon opening the cannister (one of the coolest box/packaging ever) I was greeted with that beautiful aroma that only the AVO 22 could produce. This made the entire trip worth it!

~ The original release AVO 22 US cigars had 19 in the cannister. There are (22) cigars in the pic because I had (3) AVO 22 cigars from previous trades with CS brothers. Thanks for reading guys. This cannister is going to sleep for quite a while with my other rarities in the Vinotemp.

Yes, they are the original release AVO 22s. The cannister was sealed and had all the box was numbered out of 2400 like it should be. A while back Khubli and I compared all the different 22 variations and documented them with pics. We lined up the Boris 11, OR AVO 22 US, OR AVO 22 Euro, and Outlaw's AVO 22 and noticed that the Boris 11 and Outlaw AVO 22 had sharper and pointier heads. The original release AVO 22s have a flatter head. Oh...and the original release taste 100x better! Khubli has the pics from that night if anyone is interested.

You are a lucky bastage, I have been dying to try one or at least get a a cylinder. From what I have been told not my kind of cigar as all i smoke is really full body and it will leave me wanting more. But after khubli said they tasted like peppermint I was intrigued. We shall see

I used to live in the Caribbean and have always enjoyed Cuban cigars. NCs do nothing for me. I don't think they taste nearly as good as Cubans. But when khubli gifted me an AVO 22 I instantly fell in love. The flavor and aroma are unique and beautiful. Pretty much the only NC that I smoke are Davidoff cigars and AVO cigars.

Wow, outstanding find! Do you have a certain amount of time in mind that you want them to age before you give one a light?

The blend is different as well: Avo 22 MSRP & Info

Nice find -- the canisters are cool, I agree. Now you need to find a Euro canister.
