Non-Alcoholic Drinks and food to go with smokes?

Unfortunately for me - and many other americans - the legal ages for consumption of Alocohol and Tobacco are a good three years apart. Make sense? No. Anything I can do about it? No.

Now we've all read about how amazing a nice glass of Port goes with a fat stogie. Unfortunately, I cannot have this pleasure. Well, I could.... but.. you know.

I've heard about how well coffee and tobacco go together, but to be frank, I hate coffee. So this is where you discuss what you do like to drink with your sticks, and of course, why. What goes well with a full bodied stick? What brings out flavor in a milder stick? What provides the universe with the perfect equilibrium that it has? Is it A Padron with Earl Grey Tea? Or maybe a Monte #2 with a cup o' joe.

The world may never know.... or will they?

Also, I know most people eat before they smoke, but does anyone here smoke and eat together? I get this weird feeling (maybe 100% psychological) that my taste buds are more refined during or after a smoke, and I love eating/drinking things because I feel that I taste them better. I may be crazy, but it suits me well

Personally, as stated above, I love Earl Grey Tea with my cigars. It seems to fit both mild and full bodied smokes. I'm Egyptian and what we do back home is make our tea and put dry sage in it after it's done. Then leave it covered for about 10 minutes to keep the steam in. It adds a nice burst of flavor to the cup and is very pleasing. Sometimes I like a simple cup of peach punch. I love this juice, very sweet and full of flavor. Not the traditional thing to have with a smoke but I sure do love it.

Anywho, share your Non-Alcoholic Drink, and food preferences here, I'm very curious to see what pops up!

Diet Dr Pepper, Mountain Dew on occasion and Mighty Mocha Coffee from Quik Trip if I happen to be near one (don't have one in Mitchellville). Out of all of those though the coffee seems to go the best with my cigars and is my preference. I also do not drink alcohol but that is not because of age but rather due to personal preference.

Re: Non-Alcoholic Drinks and food to go with smokes?

Damn...forgot about the second part of the question. I won't smoke a cigar on a empty stomach. I have tried this before and I felt like crap about half way through. It was a mild smoke so I thought I would be fine but I guess yet another lesson learned. I do enjoy a smoke after a meal though. It seems like a perfect compliment to big juicy steak...

I'd say a mid-day smoke merits either the "23 Flavors" or a nice icy Sprite.

Being 19 years old, as you are, I understand how it may be difficult to enjoy that alcohol/tobacco mixture. I do it anyway. Responsibly and in moderation, my friend.

Haha, I forgot as well. I have never eaten ANYTHING while smoking. I do enjoy stogies after a sweet food, however.

Re: Non-Alcoholic Drinks and food to go with smokes?

Dr.Pepper. Coke. Arizona Green tea
All amazing combinations.
I HATE coffee.. but do enjoy a Carmel Machiatto.. but thats about it, but am a huge fan of tea, but have yet to find one that goes will with cigars. I like tea hot, how it should be straight as is.. and it tends to cool much quicker then i can smoke a cigar.

OH man.. Eating and smoking?
Its a beautiful thing, me and Scottishsmoker went to livwires place where he had some KILLER smoked and bbq ribs.. we did a SMOKE and .. well Smoke session.
Very tasty

Hey Sam...and everyone else here at CS...the only reason that Sam here enjoys Macchiato is because he has an unhealthy obsession with the movie "Talladega Nights..." and if it weren't that movie he would have no idea what that beverage is...

Re: Non-Alcoholic Drinks and food to go with smokes?

I dunno what it is but ginger beer goes really well with spicier cigars. Of course yerba mate. I normally drink tea when I smoke hookah though. I like dark chocolate with cigars. Espresso is good too.

This is my drink of choice as well. Since I don't drink much with cigars yet, I really like Coke. I pick up a 20oz bottle when I go to my local B&M.

Now when my I get my new house in a few years or less and I have my own office....its on. You see its too dang cold to smoke outside most of the time in Colorado lol and indoors isn't an option.

If its not booze I drink water, tea, or coffee. A soda can go nicely with a cigar, but its usually too sweet for me. I guess I started drinking when I was 12, so when I discovered cigars I just started smoking with my booze.
