Good laugh with the wife!

So last night my wife told me she needed an extra 50 buck for a fancy dinner out with her old roommates, I of course couldn't say no, especially knowing that this would enable me to spend 50 extra bucks on cigars. So I ended up getting the JOECIGAR daily deal (10 Partagas) yesterday along with the "First Class Humidor Sampler"

Later on that night I experienced what I can only call buyers remorse, although that is too negative a term. We laughed because even with the extra 20 count humi I got, with 19 more cigars (Cmon 19 cigars and a humi for 46 bucks!!!) I am short on room and I have 2 trades plus a MAW headed my way already! It is amusing to me because I THIRST for knowledge, every year I have a new "Hobbie". One year I built models, the next it was a 500 count custom poker chip set and hours playing (fake money) online poker. This year it is cigars. And as i see it the only ay to learn more about the wide variety of cigars tis to a large degree... smoke them!

NOW before anyone flames me cigars i will no "drop" as a hobbie, but obviously having 60+ cigars at my house, and being a 1-2 stick per week smoker ONLY in nice weather, 60 cigars could take me 2-3 years to burn through!

We laughed because on one hand I felt that sense of buyer remorse, i dont have room, i cant smoke them out in the snow, i dont need them.... but at the same time i CANNOT WAIT for them to get here!!!!!!

The slope bit again, but I HAVE TO HAVE TO HAVE TO try to at least CONTROL the slope...

One thing on a side note, this forum has been so great, when i was smoking 4-5 dollar sticks form my local B&M it was to some degree a crap shoot. Some were good some sucked, with the combined bulk buying power of the forum, along with all the MAW, PIF, and trades, EVERYONE here is able to smoke 7-10 dollar smokes but only pay 2-4 bucks per stick! It is a system such as this that makes it truly a special place, and part of the reason i have to buy MORE SMOKES...

I am NOT going to PIF a 5 Vegas "A" that I haven't even tried yet, but I am running out of things in my humi that I am willing to part with, out of 36 cigars currently 19 are one of a kind (the others are joe cigars bulk deal and no one wants 5 of the SAME STICK in a PIF) and of those 19 I haven't even TRIED 16 of them... so how am i supposed to send out a decent sampler without cutting my self short?!?!

I understand your hobby shuffle, keeps you young and expands our horizons. Dont give up on the cigars - its really worth it and the sticks just get better as you learn more and more - just like whisky, wine, steaks, etc...

I'm in exactly the same place. I've gone through stained glass work, wine, winemaking, rum, beer, now cigars. The others are still active hobbies, Lord knows how I can afford them all. If learning in school were this much fun I'd have never graduated

You will find a way to smoke more. Trust me. Don't give up the hobby. I am the same way I find new hobbies all the time. I have fishing gear I don't use as much anymore, 5 guitars I should play more, it was golf clubs last year, I am gaining more and more cigars, just bought a digital SLR camera for the family, and now I am looking at guns for me and my son. I enjoy all of them but cigars just keeps getting better and I don't see it tapering off anytime soon. I laugh with my fiance about it too. I have cigars coming right now too and I have no where to put them so I ordered a couple 20ct humis with them. How silly is that.

Ohhh i will never GIVE UP cigars, it may taper to a degree, and i certainly doubt i will need more than my 50count and 20count humis, 70 cigars is PLENTY for me... but I am also glad other know where i am coming from... now if only CI shipped on weekends!

Its a slippery slope.

As for any hobby you always want something else.

Just keep smoking and enjoying. It doesnt matter how often you smoke or how much the cigars are that you smoke.

Just enjoy.
