Very nice. I wish you would have saved the cut dimensions and what not and documented the procedure. You would probably have saved a lot of gorillas a lot of headaches when they try it themselves.

What did you use to stick the hygrometer to the wood?

I'd love it if mine would stay stuck upside to the bottom of my humidor lid

Yeah, like are they ready made cabinets with cedar lining added. Did you build them from scratch? Inquiring minds want to know. I am sure that the wife would appreciate one of those much better than a couple of large coolers

Gorilla Glue will bond anything to anything else permanently.

Re: HoMade CeeGar Box

Oh Wow guys, Thanks!
It all started with....Hey lets take this extra couple of dovetailed drawers, add some crown moulding, paint them black with a distressed finish, add a couple coats of conversion varnish to seal it off, line it with some 3/8 thick spanish cedar and some shelves, then see how many ceegars we can get into it
Looks like it'll hold about a hundred sticks. We didn't do a cut list, just kinda used what we had in our heads and cut to fit. I put twice the needed amount of Viper beads into them and calibratable hygrometers attached with industrial strength velcro to hold them in place. But yes, they are built from scratch.
Spare time is a scarce commodity for the both of us, but we did amuse ourselfs with the idea of producing a few of these if there was enough interest We like the idea of the distressed look, as maybe, black, blue and red, or natural.

Mando......

Re: HoMade CeeGar Box

Looks good man. You guys sounded good last night. Thanks for the cigars. Unfortunately, I drank a few too many pale ales and couldn't find them this morning

Re: HoMade CeeGar Box

Thanks Guys,
Bummer about the smokes Brad, maybe Duck ended up with them. Yeah, the music was pretty good last night. You're sounding pretty salty on the flattop yourself. We're gonna have to do that more often in the coming new year, life's too short not to.
