how much smoke do you pass through your nose ??

earlier today i had a rocky patel vintage 1990. i found myself blowing almost entire mouthfuls of smoke though my nose since it was so smooth and lacking any real spice, and man what a great flavor. just now i finished a don lino africa and while i enjoyed it, i was only passing a small amout of smoke through my sinuses since it had a good bit of spice to me. so whats your preference ? do you like a little or a lot ? does it depend on the strength of the smoke ? every puff, every few puffs ?

i do it just like you. totally depends on the amount of spice on the cigar. just smoked a fonseca and i was blowing whole mouthfulls through my nose.

I just strted a couple months ago. I like to try doing it on every cigar now. I call it "nose nooky."

I do it more on a spicer and more full flavored cigar than on one with less taste.

Super Noob question, I know, don't rub it in please.

Is there a way or technique to pass smoke though your sinus cavity without inhaling and without french inhaling? I've tried it, but never have succeeded. Is it possible?

I've smoked a few cigars but to get added flavor, I'll french inhale some of the smoke.

I do this with every cigar, every puff. Allows me to the get the full flavor out of the cigar.

It's pretty easy. After you draw the smoke in your mouth, close your mouth and exhale out your nose at the same time.

I do it a few times for every cigar, some more than others but most likely no more than 10times total per stick cause it seems like my sinuses suck arse, they burn and hurt like mad if I do it too much, even while smoking non-spicy, extremely smooth cigars

I prefer the french inhale (in through the nose) but snorking (out through the nose) provides a totally different quality that can be just as enjoyable depending on the cigar. Either way I am doing one or the other as much as possible.


French inhale is difficult in a windy environment.

normally when you breath through your nose, the back of your tongue sort of blocks off the path between your nose and mouth. try pulling your tongue down and back towards your throat and then exhale through your nose.

It still burns my nose a lot if I do too much, so I only do it about twice or three times every third of the cigar. So no more than ten times throughout the smoke.

If it's a longer smoke, maybe a little more. But I don't smoke churchills or anything too often.

Same here. Hard on the lungs tho...you just can't tell tho!
