Re: A winter tragedy...

i was a member of Sigma Pi back in college and was hazed to the point of near emergency at one point which caused the pledge class to all quit except me. There was 3 weeks left and I wasn't turning back. Going through Hell Night alone is something I will never forget. The same semester, our Rutgers chapter had a fatality during a similar initiation involving similar alcohol rituals. Lawsuits eventually closed the house down for good. Sigma Pi was, at that time, a nightmare to get through pledging, but a lifetime of parties and slave pledges once you were in.

There were guys who felt it was all in good fun to poison a brother's fish tank or rip out the toilet from the wall during an all nighter.

This thread made me remember those crazy days and is another instance where I am left wondering what the heck I enjoyed about all that.

The best I can come up with is to guess that it's all part of the screw your buddy to prove you love him mentality that often runs on pack mentality. "What's your's is mine bro". (Including the staff infection from the frat house bathroom that hasn't been cleaned for a couple semesters and the crabs from the groupie chics that haven't missed a kegger all year.)

Thank God that part of my life is over.

Re: A winter tragedy...

Sounds like these fellas need to try smoking some of the very rare bhut jolokia infused Indian cigars.

Sorry to hear about that; but definitely some reimbursement needs to come your way, including interest for the "aging" process, etc.

Re: A winter tragedy...

New roomies a possibility? I used to drink my roommates beer, whiskey and smoke their cigarrettes but only since they said I could. Of course they did the same.

Better still, get a lockable humi for the good stuff and keep IT under lock and key.

Then leave your original humi sitting out as before.

Just to clarify. Thanks for the support and sorry for any confusion. I will make sure any of those jokers this girl invited are never allowed near my place.

Re: A winter tragedy...

Whoever took your cigars is a thief. I'd call the police and make a report. If they were high enough priced cigars, maybe it's a felony. I'll bet after the cops get done going through the house that your "brothers" will watch your stash like a hawk to avoid having the cops around. It doesn't sound to me like you have much to loose, IMO.

Brothers,
Thank you all for your kind words, advice and genorosity. It truly means a lot to me. This community is a great thing and I couldn't be more proud to be a part of it. I knew I could count on the Jungle to pick me up when I was down. Happy Smoking and Happy Holidays to all!

I know I am little late coming into this, but I just wanted to check up on your status.

Have you begun to refill it yet?
Have you confronted the suspected theifs?

Good luck getting back up to 35, sorry I can't help.
