Nobody "promised". No sales person is going to say "I Promise". Yes, they made a mistake and said we "have them", but promising is different.

telling me they have them, getting credit card information and a shipping address and telling me they will go out tomorrow is promising them.

Re: shop refuses to sell opus...

Like I said, I paid $44 and the Anejos have been $9.75 since the day they have got their shipment.

But regardless, we are talking about an innocent mistake by a sales person over two cigars. Why get so worked up?

No it is not. Nobody said "I promise". They were honest enough to call you back and say, hey man, we cant do it.

because treatment like that of the people they depend on will slowly put them out of business. b&m's complain all the time and i see them shut down all the time but they refuse to take care of the problems that people point out to them. BTW, i'm not worked up, just though i'd post on here to get peoples opinions about the situation and possibly prevent other from frequenting an establishment that won't go through on their promises.

Actually, according to you, this would be a great place to frequent. They hold hard to get cigars for regulars.

If a business does not keep to their word, their reputation suffers.

They clearly took every step for his order, and failed to keep it. How is that right of them?

If the business makes a mistake like this, it is better just to send the cigars on their way and remember next time.

Whoever makes the decisions decided it was in the best interest of the business to sell to locals (which he likely believes he has repeat business from) rather than selling to someone half way across the country (who he likely believes will never order again from him, especially easily obtainable cigars).

Most of us agree if the order was taken they should honor it, but I don't think it is worth making a huge deal over it. Obviously someone who didn't know the policy took it. Not a whole lot different than making a dinner reservation and being called back saying they are booked.

Re: shop refuses to sell opus...

You know barboujay made his point, I mean like I said my shop caters to the regulars but if I refer someone they take care of them. Also I spend thousands of dollars there you better believe that they will take care of me. The point being if you have the cigars you should sell them, cherry picking is a dumb word because ultimately ppl are gonna smoke what they like and Jay is a Opus whore we know this... Jay well they lost your business but in the other hand they place you frequent always takes care of you and you get that call for the opus or anejos. That business is taking care of their customers. Now this should be down and over with.

Re: shop refuses to sell opus...

This thread only became a big deal when people justified why the B&M didn't honor their agreement..let it die @ that..You buy and smoke what you like and with a lil work you can find deals through out our wonderful community.

Cliffnotes...He wanted to buy-they said they would ship-called back and declined his order-he came here to vent...no big deal..he never named the shop...

Great analogy. it is no different than making a dinner reservation and them calling you back.

i actually prefer shops that take care of their regulars. i don't blame them at all as this isn't what this whole post was about. anyways, anything said from here on out is beating a dead horse. it's a shop in TX and if anyone wants to know they can PM me. i'll find my robo's. it's just a matter of when
