I got some pectin to fix wrappers... now what?

Hey guys, I finally picked up some pectin. It's the Certo Premium Liquid Pectin. It's the most expensive one they had and looked like the best so for 3 bucks I picked it up. It says it's liquid pectin so I'm assuming I don't have to mix anything?

Do I just open up the pouch and use a little on the wrapper and stick it back on or what? I don't want to overdo anything, or do it wrong.

Also when i'm done, how do I store it. Just keep it aside until I need it again, or refrigerate it or what?

Thanks in advance, brothers!

I would like to know the answer to this as well. I have a couple of sticks that cracked when I overfilled my travel humidor. I was thinking of taking this route to fix them myself.

Use it sparingly like you would with glue - put a thin layer under the loose wrapper, smooth the wrapper down on it, then let it dry. If your filling cracks or holes, a few light coats are better than gobbing it on. Just store the unused pectin in the fridge when your done.

I would use a small craft paint brush to make sure you don't use to much. You can usually get them pretty cheap at any dollar store...

Re: I got some pectin to fix wrappers... now what?

My wife had an empty unused nail polish bottle. I filled it up with the pectin and when I need it, I just brush some on. Ebay has the empty bottles. I thought about buying the bottles in bulk, filling them with pectin and making them available to my BOTL.

Doesn't the nail polish smell stay in the brush? How did you clean it?

Oh, I did not know they came empty. Awesome, I'm going to get one and some pectin. Last night I ripped the wrapper on a Punch Punch and wished I had some pectin at the time.

Even if it had, I would think that some acetone or denatured alcohol would clean it fairly decent- wouldnt you think?
