Need Quick Reply: Best (out of 2) early morning cigar?

If I could get a quick response so I can get puffin, I would be uber ecstatic! To sum up the post, I'm asking if the Padron 3000 Maduro or the LGC Soberano Maduro would be a better early morning smoke.

and here we go

Yesterday I visited the cigar store because the month old trade that had been pending was supposebly sent the day before and scheduled to arrive however it didn't come.. I don't know if its a simple error within the postal service or if I'm actually getting ripped off.. I'm sure its not the dudes fault, they probably got smoked by the postman! (shipping only takes a day for us as we live 45 minutes apart.*but it takes 6 weeks for me to get my end of the trade)

Anyways, in utter frustration I bought purchased some cigars. I bought mostly "filler" sticks, or bundle cigars, to smoke in between all of my premiums it got to the point when all I had were my torano's and I didn't want to smoke them* .. Anyways, I also ended up purchasing two cigars based on recommendations from club stogie.. The Padron 3000 and La Gloria Cubana Soberano Maduro. I've had LGC before a few times, they were the Maduros too.. I remember the Serie R being extraordinary but they seemed a bit inconsistant. I would smoke one amazing cigar and the next would be terrible. Anyways, I've never had a padron before.. Maybe once many years ago but I forget and I've been wanting to try one that wouldn't set me back $12 - $14 like the anniversary, that I swear to try at least once.

Anyways, which of these two cigars, The Padron 3000 Maduro or the LGC Soberano Maduro do you think would be more appropriate to smoke early in the morning with a light breakfast? I love smoking in the morning but anything too harsh, heavy, hardcore and full bodied will blow out my papillea's(sp?)/tastebuds for the rest of the day and I won't be able to enjoy anymore smokes for at least 12 hours. So if you guys could help me out with a quick response I'll let you know how the cigar is. Thanks!

*side note: I have four cigars that were freshly hand rolled for me at the torano herf. They are in my humidor at 65rH. Should I store them in a tobacco bag (the type you get when u buy your smokes to take them home in) and keep it placed in the humidor, for added protection? or should I store them as is in the humidor? I would just hate to see them get roughed up..

IMHO, of those two, I think I'd go with the Padron, primarily because I seem to enjoy LGCs the most in the afternoon or evening. I have only had a few Soberanos, but have had quite a few Serie Rs.

Re: Best (out of 2) early morning cigar?

After reading a few previous posts, thats exactly what I was leaning towards. I found it interesting that in one of the threads an individual noted that he could taste hints of the Anniversary in it, suggesting they use some of the same tobaccos in this blend.. I haven't had an anniversary yet but I was wondering if that was true or if it is a far out claim?? I was looking for a Padron Fuma but they didn't have them, I then saw the 3000 for pretty cheap, $4, and recalled reading about them so I went for it and I'm rather excited. Thank you for the advice!

Re: Best (out of 2) early morning cigar?

Well, I lit it up and was a bit bored so I decided to take my dog for a walk, listen to some tunes from the first album I made back when I was in highschool on my IPOD and enjoy this Padron. My acid reflux was acting up so I had a slight pukey feeling and was thinking that this cigar was going to be too much to handle but that wasn't the case. It was a good cigar, with a good tobacco taste and it progressed nicely (i still have about 1/2 - 1 inch left) and it didn't get too harsh but I just didn't find it to be that interesting. It was like smoking a cigarette, it just tasted like I was smoking tobacco.. good ole Virginia Gold.. I noticed some peanut butter (or nutty as most people call it) notes and some toasty notes.. and lots of just good ole' tobacco.

This is the type of cigar I would like to smoke if I was out fishing with my father, which is something I haven't done in probably 15 years.... Its a cigar.. I didn't find it to be intricate, or have much depth. but like I said, it wasn't bad.. For the price, its deffinately a good cigar. It would be nice to have a box around and I think that it could easily last me a year or two.. Its a Man's Cigar. I wouldn't really recommend this cigar to a newbie but for someone who is just getting comfortable smoking medium full to full bodied cigars (like myself) I think this is a good candidate..

Thanks for the advice Moglman. I think I'll save the LGC for another day, maybe for a late night weekend smoke.

keep on smoking!

I don't smoke in the morning but If I were to I would want something mild and smooth. So I would go with a LGC.
