But look at the bright side ... 73% humidity is perfect for that humidor.

Wow, now that's SERIOUS cold. I looked on a map. I didn't even know people lived way up there! I'm curious, what are the warmest temperatues you see in the "summer"?

It was -8 yesterday, we will see what it warms up to by tomorrow.

Str8edg- You are insane.
If he is, the ****** must have some posh fringe benefits. Wiki shows the population increased by a whooping 6.5% from 2001 - 2006 raising the total to 226. As a fellow poster stated earlier, I was not aware of just how far north you are located either. Scary. Hope you get a chance for that smoke tomorrow, even if it as to be a petite corona.

Re: 2 degrees above zero

I am never here in the summers so I don't get to have much "nice" weather. When you figure we get 24 hours of sun for months on end it gets a little warm (or it feel that way)... I guess temp wise on average around 10C (50F) I guess. But when you have no wind, and the sun is shining on you 24/7 your house can get hot, often during the light season by house climbs up to 25 - 30C (77 - 86F). The recond high was in 1962 a temp of 18.3C (64.9F)... now that was a HOT day

My fav quote on the Wikipedia site is "It is also one of the coldest inhabited places in the world, with an average yearly temperature of -16.4°C" I agree with that... sometimes we wonder what the hell we are doing here??

You know why we live where we live?? Its cause we got kicked out of everywhere else thats why. We caught a bit of a break today, it went UP to -14 C today (6.8 F), but the wind was chilly again. I have smoked in temps of -25C in my shed without a heater, but lately, the urge just has not been strong enough, and I just have not had the time.

Cold weather smoking is a part of life in Canada for sure!!

I believe living in that kind of climate, combined with the cost of a good premium cigar, I would seriously consider doing a little bit of indoor smoking.

Of course I live alone and that greatly simplifies my situation. And the fact that I also smoke a pipe helps as well. I've always wondered what it is about cigar smoke that seems to make it linger in a state with an aroma that belies the wonderful taste of a good premium cigar, while some heavily cased pipe tobaccos work better than most room deodorizers while tasting like Ivory soap or some kind of cheap perfume. Mystery to me.
