think fast!
Alright, I'll make sure to pop into the new gorilla forum after this but I've got a quick question that needs to be thrown out there first.
I've been a cigar smoker for about 2 years now and lurking through this forum since about day one, whenever I had a humidor question I knew where to turn, but now I've got to make a quick decision so I'd love to hear some input. For about the last 2 weeks I've been having some serious problems keeping a good solid humidity level in my 50 count humidor, after talking to a guy at my local shop he made me realize that I've got the thing packed way too full. When I went through it last night I realized I had about 80 sticks in there! After I marveled for a few seconds at my Tetris-like abilities I transferred out about 40 sticks into a tupperware container with some drymistat tubes. both containers have a good solid humidity 65% humidity (just the way I like e'm) but obviously I can't keep half of my collection in a little plastic container. I have been planning on setting up a wine fridge for erratic summers we have in the North East, but was hoping to wait until about April for that. Should I A) buy a 100 count humidor to hold me over until then, or B) set up a coolidor for substantially less, and then just transfer the guts of that set up over into the fridge when I get it. Up until now I've only been buying singles, but I'd like to make the jump to buying boxes, so that factors in too. Thanks in advance for the advice! |

Re: think fast!
Agree with those above about the cooler.
But there's no rush, you actually can keep your cigars in tupperwear. Some people use this storage method exclusively. Welcome to Club Stogie! |

![]() ![]() If your definitely gonna get the winefridge then a small humi 50-75ct could fit in there no problem later on as a singles storage box... but the cooler would work till about May when the temps start spiking in the NE...basements usually work unless your in an apt |

I have two of the 29 cup version. It's airtight you can see your sticks and the sides are almost 90 degrees. Each probably holds around 50 sticks. You mentioned you wanted to start buying boxes. Why get a bigger desktop humidor then? Many of the gorilla's I've seen here store their boxes in coolerdors until they find the cabinet that suits them. Use your 50 ct. desktop for your go to sticks and the cooler for your long term storage. Pick up your RH beads from Cigarmony or Heartfelt. You are set.

Re: think fast!
Go to Sams and buy the 120qt cooler. Pick up some beads. That ought to hold you the rest of the month.

Re: think fast!
Does the cooler give the cigars any bad taste due to the strong new plastic smell or do you guys air it out for some time before putting in the cigars? If I ever figure out where I can hide a huge cooler in my 700sqft condo I'll set one up.
