stopped by Graycliff

Just got back from my cruise that made a stop at Nassau and did my normal short walk to the Hilton Colonial to use the beach facilities. The walk over from the cruise was the normal selection of stores with many carrying the famed barber pole Cohibas as well as plenty of 8 dollar Cohiba robustos that I passed on.

The Graycliff Hotel is a short walk up the road on the hill.

The history of this place goes back a few hundred years and it remains a nice place to eat a fine meal and at night, they have a piano bar and of course, cigars.

I arrived around lunch and the place was empty and I strolled around before bumping into a guy who was picking up a few cigars and told me he was hurrying to catch the 3:00 flight to Havana, which made me jealous as well as curious as to why he was buying cigars when he would be in Havana in under an hour.

He knew a few of the rollers and took me back to see the operation, which I believe was all Cuban rollers and it seemed to be your typical rolling room.

I bought a freshly rolled cigar and left, glad for the visit.

Very nice! Thanks so much for the pic's. Glad you had a great time and got some good stogies. How was the fresh rolled smoke compared to the Graycliff's in the B&M's?

I hope you picked up some Espressos... specifically the Elegantes or the Double Espressos... I think you'd like 'em.

I had a Red Label Taco and enjoyed it a lot, but it was my first so I had nothing to compare it to.

On a side note, the once reliable gift shop in the Hilton had an empty humidor, so I believe the only reliable place to buy Habanos on Nassau may be the Atlantis.

The Royal Carribbean Crown Viking lounge holds a cigar afficianado event each night which was poorly attended and the night I went, I met a US Marshall who was herfing up there and I felt uncomfortable lighting what I had packed for the cruise around him. I spent most of my time smoking on what is left of the smoking area on the cruise, which is the starboard outside decks.

All in all, I had a great cruise and decompressed and ate a lot of food.

I smoked the cigar fresh and liked it.

I think Greycliff makes good cigars, but don't find myself buying them much due to the price.

They are about the same price at Greycliff as they are in my B&M, minus maybe a couple dollars.
