Re: How Did You Come To Club Stogie?

I was just starting to get into cigars and was searching for info on, cutters, humidors, and was looking for a forum on this subject ( then I used to post on a Celica forum, which had good info on the Car). And when i saw the NO Snob policy I thought this is gonna be good, since i didnt know anything on the subject and didnt wanna get crushed cause of my stupid questions, but everybody was great and I decided to stay.

I found this site through another board. A member told me about it. Now this is my main board my home and the other board is secondary.

I found the site through Dogwatch Social Club podcast. Was listening at the gym and they mentioned this cool discussion forum they had just found called Club Stogie. Came home and bam, been here ever since.

Re: How Did You Come To Club Stogie?

I am suprised that there were not other mentions. Around the beginning of September this year I caught an article in the online edition of the Chicago Tribune about a cigar forum that was not for snobs. As far as forums, chat groups, bulliten boards or anything else more sophisticated than email I'm naive as hell. So I looked up the site and joined. (I didn't realize you could lurk) I read a little and made about 5 posts. I went on vacation and apparently I had offended someone because when I got back, I was kicked out. I retried several days in a row before it occurred to me that maybe there was a problem and I could rejoin. I did with the same username and password and I've had a good time ever since.

Re: How Did You Come To Club Stogie?

I clicked through to Top 25 cigar from Cigargroup.com.
They've got hundreds of links listed for retailers, manufacuterers, etc.
It's a good site for poking around on. Check it out.
I had found it through Fujipub who had been hosting a website for a B&M I frequent.

So glad I found the Jungle. It makes me feel like cigars are more of a hobby than what they really are, an obsession!

I was on another BB when a member asked about cigar reviews. He was told about top25cigar. I took the link and looked around the site and ended up on CS.....happily ever after...

Your quote is even funnier if you think of it being said with Ranier Wolfcastle's voice....

jgros001 and Bruce (i'm not sure of his username here, I only know him from meeting him at a smoke shop) told me about CS on Wed. I looked around, saw a ton of stuff I needed to learn, saw a bunch of really cool/funny/informative posts and had to jump in. I'm really glad I did.

Referred by a great BOTL named AAlmeter from another forum we belong to. I started a cigar thread on that forum, and he referred me here!

Re: How Did You Come To Club Stogie?

I posted an ISO thread earlier, then found this one and figured I'd answer it.
I lurked on about every board for a good while before I joined any, but somehow I missed this place. I came here a few months ago on a recommendation from a few guys on another, greener, board I post on. ;-)

I've been stopping by the jungle since to check things out,
and this is a fine bunch of monkeys, no doubt.
