It has been my experience that most shop owners or employees don't really take the time to know the difference and it happens so infrequently it is a none-issue. I don't think there are too many people out their maliciously "spreading the lie".
I guess my frustration with the situation comes from places that should know better like CA and other high status publications and companies.

I do believe that some shop owners are ignorant and it's an innocent mistake, but I can't believe that CA is ignorant about it and I also think that at the very least *most* manufacturers at least do nothing to stop the ignorance and at worst proliferate it. I don't know about it happening infrequently though. It seems like this happens in about every other cigar store I go in that I don't frequent. My local chain B+M is good, but it seems like it happens a lot elsewhere. I know there are enough here that have experienced it.

Obviously if your employer is doing something about their issue, then they would be an exception.

Edit... Hell, if this guy's son doesn't know the difference, then the problem is far more widespread than it should be. Of course, I fail to believe he doesn't know the difference. I can only assume he was lying to me.

Next time you're in Illinois/Indiana PM me, i'll grab some Anejos from the humi and a bundle of $1's, we'll do a plume/mold/glitter comparison up-close.
Sounds like a plan!

Really? Cause all the boxes I have seen this year have had the humidipaks in them.

I just opened one this week to take the cello off and take the humidipak out so I can let them take a nice long nap...

I was thinking back, I have opened at least two boxes this year and I was pretty sure they had humidipaks in them. At least I am not completely crazy!

Yeah I don't think I have seen any without them as a matter of fact....

I haven't opened any sharks so maybe those didn't have them...? I know the 46's, 50's, and 55's I have seen all had them.

The process was implemented sometime last year, thus the reason some may have it and some may not. The majority of the boxes in my territory did not contain the humidipak, in fact every box of sharks I saw did not have one.

I did notice that most of the ones we shipped for TAA this fall did have the paks but most at christmas did not.

Point being, there are steps being taken.
