What is it with Anejos and mold?

Seems there have been a lot of threads about Anejos and having mold problems with them. I only have one that was gifted to me and I decided to check it out and take it out of the cello. Sure enough there was mold starting to develop Now this has been stored in cello at 65% for over a year and I never bothered to check since my humidity has been steady 65%. Could they have a mold spore problem at the factory that is causing so many people to have mold develop on their cigars even under careful storage conditions? Seems that for a premium cigar such as this that this isn't just an isolated problem. I've never had a problem with any other brand of cigar yet this seems to be a common occurrence with the Fuentes. If this is the norm with these my money will continue to go to the Padrons

mold spores are everywhere. Its just something about the wrapper that makes them susceptible to growth.

That and if his was a year old, they may have been from the batch that had the shipment problem. If the mold had already started, keeping it at 65% won't stop it.

It's really an unfortunately problem with them, but luckily I haven't had much of one with them.

As stated in the most recent thread about this, steps are being taken to combat this problem. With all of the talk, you would think that every Anejo in the world has this problem, but it is definitely not the case.

The cigars are not leaving the factory with any visible mold, as far as I can tell it begins somewhere between the factory and the consumer during shipping and only seems to affect the Anejo's, which makes sense since it is a very unique cigar. Otherwise the problem would be inherit in all Fuente sticks, and it is not.

I advocate discontinuing them..................

I wouldn't think of paying more than $15 apiece on the high end for them. Some goofy people on C-Bid.
