Re: Habanos Torres Identification

Hey Bryan! I purchased a handful of Habano Torres cigars while in AZ a few weeks back. I have smoked two so far (both 15 year's). I paid about $18 each for these and they were definitely good cigars but if you are pressed for money (being a college student) I would say your funds would be better spent elsewhere.

There are a ton of great cigars in the $5-$8 range and the rule of diminishing returns still applies here. I doubt I will be buying more from Tim in the near future as I have a short list of favorites that I enjoy more than what I have tried from HT so far and they are all less expensive to boot.

However, this is just my

The thing about HT is I get mad custom smokes. I tell him what mood I'm in, I pay a little more than most of the other cigars I smoke and I'm always satisfied. Not a luxury everyone has.

bpj, all 30 year sticks are $25 a piece, 15-20 year sticks run from $9-15. This is all before tax.

I'm pretty much prepared to spend around these amounts. Since I rarely have time to light one up, especially because of the weather this time of year, I like to make those few cigars per month special occasions.

In regard to my question before, are HT best fresh, or do they remain unchanged or improve with time in the humi? All this talk of these being absolutely fresh rolled, and the fact that I've read that sticks are best fresh off the table or with at least a few months age, has me a bit confused.

IMO they're best fresh off the table. The tobacco he uses is already 8, 10, 15, 20, or 3 years old. Old enough for me.

Thanks for the help! I suppose I'll try to limit any purchase to what I can resonably expect to smoke within a few weeks. Hopefully any left for a while won't go too far downhill.

They don't go downhill but they're just not the same.
