Boston Lounges

This Friday I'm making a trip to the 18 and choke city ....Anyway a friend and I plan on hitting a cigar lounge/bar.

Ive done my research and came up with these 3...which one do I go to?

Churchill's

Cigar Masters

Stanza Dei Sigari

Re: Boston Lounges

All three are pretty decent. They've each got their merits and drawbacks.

Churchills has very nice accomodations and the ventillations system is pretty top notch, but the tourist heavy crowd makes it hit-or-miss sometimes.

Cigar Masters has a nice location and the setup is very comfortable, but they do charge a $10 lighting fee, which is a big bummer. The service is pretty spotty and the afterwork crowd can be a bit 'intense'.

Stanza is out of the way in the Northend- but the surrounds restaurants make it worthwhile. No lighting fees or anything and the ambience is very nice. Pretty comfortable and the ventillation is decent. Some tourist crowd, but the rest makes up for it.

My vote is for Stanza.

I also say take a trip to the North End.

Also, for an extra good time while in Boston please make sure you wear LOTS of Yankee's gear and walk around saying lots of things about how the Patriots choked in the Superbowl.

I'm sure the locals will be glad to show you a good time.

Thanks Mark...Is there a cutting fee at Churchill's? And I think I saw that Stanza now charges a $5 cutting fee. Not a big deal but I saw it on their website this morning.

Re: Boston Lounges

Stanza is the best bet all around. Full bar, no lighting fees, great location.

Churchills is nice, but sterile and ventillation is too extreme; can barely taste a cigar. Great for business meetings and they have good service.

Cigar Masters has horrible service, can be packed with no place to sit, kind of expensive and the dreaded "lighting fee". I bring my own cigars and just buy the cheapest thing they have for $4.00 and give to a homeless person on the way out. They do have Chimay on tap.

Re: Boston Lounges

I was reading the Cigar Masters site the other day since I might be up there in May. The $10 cutting fee is waved if you buy the $10 worth of sticks. The reason behind it (from my head) is that 60% of their sales must in cigars by law.

I haven't heard the $10 minimum purchase, maybe that is new?
The smoking ban was the best thing that ever happened to their business.

A few of the cigar shops have their own seating and you can bring a beverage in. If you want a quick smoke, just do that and save some money. We have good cigar prices in the city.
