Fuente Anejo Shark...

well I strolled into one of the local shops this weekend and found that they had some unusual fuentes and one of these was the anejo shark...was just curious if these were a fairly rare cigar?? They were limiting to one a customer but since Im kinda friends with one of the guys that works there he let me pick up a couple...they were 9 bucks a piece which I didn't think was that bad. Was just curious if anyone had tried these and what they thought of them??? They are kind of odd shaped with the box press towards the end. I took a pic in case anyone was curious as to what they looked like.

I've had 'em, not too bad....but from what I understand, $9.00 is a pretty darn good price. I would go back in as often as you could and keep buying them. They make good trade bait

Don't know how "rare" they are considered, but they are hard to come by.

well there was like four left when I came in and since the guy let me have more than one I was happy. They had one of the rare Opus there but they wanted almost 30 bucks for it and I just wasnt in the mood to spend that much. They also had a large hemmingway maduro that I wanted to get but held off on. Maybe I shall make an appearance back there tomorrow. :9

If I remember correctly this came out like 2 years ago it is fairly rare doesn't come but like once a year round the holidays kinda like the maduro hemmingways and the rest of the anejos. I was lucky enough to get a box from the very first batch, to be honest not very fond or the whole anejo line but definately a collector's item. And the price is very fair. I'd like to get some of the current batched to compare but no luck here finding any. What was the special opus they were selling for $30?

well im pretty sure that these are the second year anejos since they had the wrapper that said extra viejo on it. I took the wrappers off like I normally do when I put them in the humidor. If I heard him correctly he said it was a perfexcion A but maybe he meant X. Let me know if you want a couple of the new batch of anejos levell3 and ill send yah a couple the guy down here gets them all the time.

The Anejo 77 aka SSS Shark was first released to the public last X-Mas. $9.00 is a pretty good price. Most places do limit them. I got a box last year. The local shop still has some of this year's release and they are $11.00 each. They are released once a year around teh same time as the Hemingway maduros and teh otehr Anejos, like levell3 said. IMHO, they are the best of the new release Anejos. They taste very similar to the first release Anejos.
As for the Opus. A Perfecion A comes shrink-wrapped in a cedar "coffin" and MSRP is $25. A Perfecion X comes in a regular box and MSRP is $11.50.

thanks for the info Matt..he said they were in small cedar boxes so they must have been the Perfecion A. Glad to hear i got a good price on the shark and maybe ill try one tomorrow night for new years.:9

I bought a Shark yesterday just out of curiosity along with a 48. The shop I bought from also had 4 or 5 Hemingway maduros but I passed on those and the Opus. I still have a few of those from a couple of years ago.

That Opus A you passed on is way over priced, I would rather have the maduros myself.

Most denfinately I would be interested if they get some sss sharks if you couple pick me up a couple for camparison purposes be more than happy to trade witcha or $$$. Hope everyone has a safe and happy new years!!!
