I got the same email when I moved to Oregon. I didn't know what it was, so I tried to do some research. The link is from Thompson's website.

I sent a picture of my license in.(probably not the smart thing to do.) But I agree, they called like crazy after that. They finally stopped when I told them no. It is odd though. When I lived in Florida and Washington, they never called. Other than that, I haven't had any other problems with them.

I have ordered from Thompson's a few times as well as several vendors both online and via phone and have never been asked for any I.D. Nor would I ever provide any personal information such as a copy of my driver's license if asked.

my security system consists of a mossberg 12ga. with buck shot and slugs alternating.

Update on this;

So I am sitting here thinking I have 15 RP Sungrown on 2 to 3 week back order. It's been a bit over two weeks so I go to the website and log in. I check my order history and magically there are absolutely no transactions in there. None shipped, none pending. Nada. I guess when I told the person on the phone 17 times I didn't want to join their stupid club that somehow disqualified me from the deal? I'm gonna let sleeping dogs lie on this one.

I was stuck in Houston airport last December when I went to the Texas Bowl. My choices for connecting flights were either Chicago or Dallas, and silly me for thinking Chicago weather would be worse in December.

I was too cheap to spring for a hotel room so I slept in the airport. Horrible horrible experience, made even worse when I got to Dallas and saw all the nice comfy cots everyone stranded there got to sleep on.

I actually wound up spending more time in airports on that trip than I did in Houston.

Good choice...like many of your fellow BOTL's suggested, avoid that company...you may miss one or two good sales a year, but it's worth it in the long run...
