This is one of the first mornings in a long time that I've woken up and heard something positive on the morning news!

A drug bust in Detroit has led to the confiscation of what looks like a good number of Cubans. The local sheriff is proposing that the cigars be shipped overseas to our troops.

What a rare, and pleasant surprise.

I was also pretty surprised when the story didn't mention anything about opposition to the plan. I guess we'll see.

Not sure. The picture in the article really doesn't do it justice. In the tv story they actually pan across the room, and it shows two pretty good sized tables filled with boxes.

They should just destroy them. Who knows what might be in them? I wouldn't give them to an enemy much less our brothers overseas.

Maybe you and I could "inspect" a few of them to guarantee authenticity.

May as well go smoke some leaves from the back yard..... Those are about as fake as they come! The only cubans I've seen wrapped in cellophane were the Jose L. Piedra line along with the Rafeal Gonzalez....

No matter what happens to them, the story was definitely really positive.

To see a government employee standing up in a press conference (not sure if it was a formal press conference, but there looked like there was a lot of press there), and talk about sending cigars to troops, without any whining from anyone, was really nice.

Here in Detroit, when something good happens, we cling to it.

I think its a great idea. I think they should send all coniscated cubans to our service men and women. Right now they cut them in two and throw them away. That makes no sense when they would be more than appreciated by our troops.
