If I do cigar reviews, I dont want to do the cigar reviews of Cigars I Smoke...so maybe if we could get some guys that are good with words to review a cigar for the month, I'll combine them in a "Car and Driver" style review.

Hehe, I just got the C03...non USB mic for 100 bucks and a 20 dollar boom stand. The sound is incredble, I actually sound like a radio DJ with this thing. The USB audio is great but for me I already had XLR cables for my guitar stuff and my interface already had the phantom power capabilities that I needed to run it. The C01u was what I was first looking at when I decided to get a better mic...It's definitely worth it just on the accessory side alone.

Wanna trade the shockmount and case for an Anejo No. 77 and the case from my C03?

I don't think it would hold my mic as well. Especially if I where to smoke it. Nice try.

Haha...I used that to test the mic before. I am thinking of condensing my collection though. If I do sell it.I'll gladly let you know.

Re: Clubstogie podcast thread

this is a phenomenal idea -- podcasts are a great way to reach out to some of the newer guys like me.
I'm sure you have seen the videos on the Cigar Aficionado website about how to light up/smoke cigars properly.
I think this is a good jump-off point for a podcast.
Find out what people have the most trouble with starting out -- I know i have trouble with the intricacies of cigar types etc etc.
But i can understand how that would become boring to listen to relatively quickly.
So i agree with some of the suggestions of cigar reviews. I think that perhaps just finding some really interesting cigars (Eggs by Drew Estate) or the new NUBS would be really interesting to hear about for a lot of people.
Even some of the more common ones would be interesting to hear about.
Maybe a cigar of each..type..mild med dark etc...
And yes, it would probably be in your best interest to get some help with it - i don't have the palette yet to be able to do a great review,
but i am sure you can find a fun group of Gorillas who would be more than willing to help you out.
Best of luck!

I'd bet you'd get a bunch of people to contribute to that! I know I would.

Maybe post topics in this (or another) thread for us to think about and PM / email you our thoughts.

SUGGESTIONS:

Palio vs. Xicar

Cutting vs. Punching

Benefits of Dry Boxing

What RH works best

Passive / active humidification systems

Storage tips / solutions

Herf Etiquette

Worst smoke of all time?

Worst producer of all time?

Bad / Good retailer stories

Car Smoking tips (I know Mark from Cigarmony has a bit on his page about this, but I'd be curious)

Beetles - Fact or Fiction?

A review of the Herf Calendar / Calendar of events

Where to smoke in the U.S.A. / Canada / and beyond

Hell.... other stuff I'd like to hear from my fellow cigar smokers (most of which can be found in the 'Everything but cigars' forum...

Favorite Music / Movies / Television Shows (maybe call it a Potpourri section)

Pipe smoking

Food Wine and Drink

Sports

Just throwing stuff against the wall and seeing what sticks

All in all, I'd bet it would be very entertaining. Listener provided content would make your job easier and would, most importantly, make for good conversation here on the boards... You provide the pipes, and we can provide the points.

If you get serious about it, maybe worth hitting pds up for your own cigar specialty forum to keep things organized!!!

Re: Clubstogie podcast thread

How about announcing a cigar of the day for a podcast in the prior podcast. We could procure that cigar prior to the podcast and smoke as you smoke. This way we could have some interactive.

Off that we could have a podcast review thread to share notes on the reviewed cigar.
