Cuban Crafters....adventures in ordering...

Back on Sunday March 9th I submitted an e mail order with Cuban Crafters for some Don Kiki's , three boxes to be exact.

Never received an e mail confirmation so contacted them by phone around the 14th ?? Anyway they stated the order had been shipped via USPS Priority and it should about be here.

On the 18th I called again....and was told it had been shipped on the 14th and they would FINALLY send a confirmation/shipment number. I think the order was never processed until I called on the 14th or so.

I checked the USPS site and apparently my order had been shipped someplace INTERNATIONAL...showing it going OUT of Country !?!?!?!?

CC was closed ,so I sent a phone message and e mailed asking them to check into this.

Get home on the 29th and there was an e mail from CC. Happily informing me that my order had been shipped....and had arrived in MALTA!!!! The small Country in the middle of the Medditeranean!!!

All I wanted was a few boxes of Don Kiki Botello's!!! What an adventure.

Anyone else have similar experiences with Cuban Crafters??

Re: Cuban Crafters....adventures in ordering...

Yes, got a charge on my credit card from Germany for $100. Seems someone ordered tecno music with my card number at the exact time I placed an order with Cuban Crafters. Could have been a coincident, I guess. But, they didn't have a record of my order either. So I had to reorder. Haven't tried again and that's a shame because I like the Cuban Crafters Cabinet Selections. I found a B&M in town to get some, so I'll just deal with them.

Re: Cuban Crafters....adventures in ordering...

drhalle you exactly hit on my other concern.......I gave these guys my credit card info!!! I'd like to get the cigars ,but ordering directly seems to be a bit inefficient as well as risky.

Montana, Malta- what's the difference? They both start with M and have 2 As and a T in 'em!

Actually, that really does suck! One good thing about CS is learning about vendors that are reliable and those that aren't. I think I'll steer clear of CC!

Miami is a third-world country, guys.

Call them and ask to speak to Kiki. He'll make it right, he's a stand-up guy.

It's the people who work there that are morons...but that's what you get for cheap there.

It WOULD be cool if Your Malta Buddy COULD snag them!!!!

Now I could believe this IF I lived in Malta, MT as there IS a Malta Montana. But otherwise...... this situation is borderline unbelievable.

I'm going to call tommorow and see if I can simply get my order reshipped.

Re: Cuban Crafters....adventures in ordering...

When I first got into Cigars, I bought my first Humidor through them. Well that Humidor lasted a few months, cause it could never hold humidity, and the inside lip started to come apart. My Humidor was under warranty, but I didn't feel like playing the game with Cuban Crafter's. I ate the $150.00..but in the end I won, cause I never ordered a single thing from them again. Their customer support is a joke..and when I had them on the phone, they seemed disinterested and shady.

Then I found this website...

Then.. I bought a Diamond Crown Humidor(Windsor 160 count), and haven't looked back since then.

This is the reason why I believe you should see a humidor in person, before you buy it. I'm not a wood expert, but the Spanish cedar Cuban Crafter's uses for their Humidors is lousy! There was NO fresh smell or cedar smell for that fact with the CC Humidor. When I bought the Reed and Barton (Diamond Crown)..I was blown away with the Spanish cedar smell..the way it should be.

I put Cuban Crafter's right along side Thompson Cigar...TERRIBLE!!

I bought some stuff from them maybe 6 months ago. Everything that came was crap and misrepresented on their website. Never again.

I bought my first humidor from them, it doesn't even have an inside lip. The POS won't get above 60% RH. It took 5 weeks for it to arrive to boot and they never returned any e-mails or calls.

Hey FN, I still can't believe that new humi of yours ain't filled up yet. Whats the story You know, its really kinda sad when your first experience with an online B&M goes sour. In any business, customer service (and quality product) is the number one priority that keeps your customer coming back to you. I would assume that this is not the first time this has occurred. It sounds like CC is a place that you actually will have to telephone and speak with someone when placing an order and ask alot of questions to lock em' in regarding your order. I guess time will tell with this online retailer...

That’s frightening. I have been doing online business well before it was the norm and have always been comfortable doing so. I do have a credit card that I use for first time stuff or places of questionable integrity that only has a $500 limit. It usually has a few hundred bucks on it so the most its worth is 2 or 3 hundred bucks if it gets hijacked online. Once I trust a place or do business with them enough I just use my direct debit card.

Never been there myself but my son was there a few moths ago and some of the stories he told me made the hair on the back of your neck stand up. Sounds like a shame to me too since its so beautiful down there.

Mark,

NO new Aristocrat yet EITHER!!!!! It IS on the way though!!

Yeah. This IS a strange deal but I'd like to get the cigars anyway. Had a few of the DK Botellos, a little perfecto sort of guy, a few years ago and liked them.

Can't IMAGINE how they could possibly pervert my address to someplace in another Country !?!?!?
