To Protect and Serve Photo Thread
I was thinking that there are a lot of brothers on the board here that are in either law enforcement or firefighting services and I am hoping that they will step forward and be recognized in the same way the members are in the military photo thread. The men and women who serve in these fields do a lot to keep us safe on a daily basis at home and I just want to convey my appreciation to all of for your dedication and commitement to the safety of others. So if you have a nice photo of yourself (Especialy in uniform) please feel free to post it here.

Three of my favorite pictures from work.
Working a disaster drill last summer  One of my better days at work ( this is why they hate to send me on out of town transfers)  This was Christmas night out in the bay after our Charlie Brown xmas dinner ( we have a microwave, a toaster oven and a bbq to cook with)

I have worked in county corrections for about 3 years now. No photos of me on the job though. Great to see many others working in fire/law enforcement

 This was about a year ago. My LAST day in uniform before I retired. Did almost twenty three with the Montana Highway Patrol with ten additional years with two previous Departments. So I had Thirty Two plus when I left. Wish I could find one of the 1974 shots when I first started. Had HAIR, no GUT, those were the days!!! LOL I enjoyed the job, but I'm happy it's over. I was damned lucky from start to end. FN in MT |

Seriously guys, thanks for all you do. You have a job that can affect entire lifetimes. I hope all of you realize this. There have been some really good cops (and judges) in my past that shaped me into a better person today. Be safe out there.

I'll step up,
My wife and I are both career FF/EMT's for a small combination department, She is a Paramedic and I am an Intermediate. Our department averages about 1600 calls/year with 1300 of those being EMS. We operate as 4 person shifts with callback of paid and part-time for all hands pages We love our jobs and love serving our community. Check the website for some pics. This is my Uncle - his wife says he refuses to grow up.
Mariposa Volunteer Fire Dept - they went down for the brushfires in Malibu Did I mention he's......ahem.....63?? Hope I can still be hummin' along like that!!! |
