It's April, where are the Tat Blacks??

Can you tell I am a little impatient?

I was beaten to the punch at silo and at newhavana when these first came out and I have been biting my nails waiting for the release. Anyone got any updates or information?

I know most places said end of March or early April and that time is upon us.

Really? Did he get them recently? When I went there all he had was an empty box. It made me sad, cuz I've been DYING to try one. I'll have to give him a ring, I think...

There's a thread somewhere between the 1st and 2nd pages of General forum, that talks about someone getting the inside line on the Tats directly from the mouth of Pete Johnson.

Talked to them the other day.

There where problems with packaging. They come packaged in glass jars not wooden or cardboard boxes. They did not package the jar properly and they were breaking during shipment destroying the jar and cigars. Some BMs got them most did not. They pulled all of there shipments and had them rerouted back to them before BMs got them. They are now opening every box they shipped out inspecting for damage and repackaging and then shipping back out after all jars/boxes have been inspected. Maybe a couple month before we see the Tat Blacks.

You sure they are glass jars?? I was told they were ceramic jars. And I have seen pictures of thme and they are ceramic looking.

I was told glass but could be ceramic, but in either case the jars are breaking. The customs issue has been resolved. Customs couldn't see through the jars well when x-raying and they looked like bombs (no pun intended) so they opened some of the packages and broke the seals on the jars. The ones that weren't opened were the ones that made it to BMs most did not though. Tat talked with customs so the seals won't be broken now. The packages are just under far more scrutiny when going through and will take longer there as well. My best guess is end of May at the earliest.

Pete Posted this on another board on 4/11:
"The jars just shipped from China which will take 3-4 weeks and than we pack them in Los Angeles with the cigars. The cigars are still in Nicaragua but should arrive the same time as the jars. Looks like mid May to be safe.......
